Inflammation markers elevated

I remember some people posted here that they experienced flare ups after Covid jabs. How long will this last? Weeks or months?

I reduced my Methotrexate injectable from 25mg to 15mg in April and have been excellent until August ( the 9th) when had my 4th covid vaccine. Since then I am like steadily going down the hill. I have experienced very bad side effects with almost a week fever, nose bleeding......felt like a had the virus not the jab!

Now in September my bloods are getting worse and started to ache again ....:(

Do you think is the flare up still or the reduction in my dose?

Would very much appreciate some advice

Sending hugs to you all

Xx

You might like to look at the symptoms currently in the Zoe app joinzoe.com/learn/covid-new...

It doesn't sound from your description like Covid, although it's possible that it could trigger off a surge in your Rheumatoid Arthritis symptoms or that there's another infection making you feel terrible with a fever etc. A rise in temperature seems quite rare with the most recent variants of Covid, but it's worth doing a test to exclude it.

I would ask for medical advice on what sounds like a flare and/or another infection - whatever triggered it off.

I’m so sorry to hear this. Covid vaccines trigger me into horrible flares (they triggered the disease to start up in me in the first place) and I find it very hard to get out of them. Twice I resorted to steroid injections as I just couldn’t get myself back to a steady state. So sorry to hear how unwell you are. Steroid injections are helpful if you are stuck in a flare. However your symptoms sound horribly covidy too. Maybe it’s stronger side effects due to our reduced immune systems.

It became unbearable, couldn't sleep properly last night. My back is literally killing me. I contacted Rheumatology specialist nurses for advice already. It is so hard to decide whether to protect myself with Covid jabs or not in order to avoid these flares that turned my life upside down. I hope I will overcome this soon! 🙏... just started my Uni, and don't want this to affect my ability to study

This life is so unfair sometimes 😪

Hi Curcubeu,

I'm sorry to hear of your situation. I would recommend you get in contact with your rheumatology team as this may be a flare, a sign your disease activity is not adequately controlled on the lower dosages, or something else going on.

Regardless of what's caused it, I think you'll need your medical team to help intervene to get it all under control.
