Hope you are OK. I've got a plant sprayer filled with cold water, that's doing the trick

I’m ok sitting with fan and feet in water but the minute I move it’s another story. Going to have to sleep in a bath of cool water at this rate 😂

I hear you, my joints are flaring too, I wonder if it is the humidity? When it's warm and dry I feel great.

I'm sitting in front of a fan in a wet t-shirt trying not to even think about tomorrow or Tuesday

Sooner this sun goes in the better. This is me right now

I dread the next 2 days. My Dad died in his sleep Friday night. My sisters are on holiday and I need to register his Death etcetera the thought of walking through the city centre it is pedestrianised and it’s a fair walk from . And I’m still not great with the covid. So want to restart meds as I’m struggling but not symptom free. Bro no help. X

Oh my goodness, im SO sorry xx

I'm shocked, were you expecting this ? Not that it makes it any easier. I know you said he was a character!

Oh jeez, families eh, whats up with your brother, I presume you've given him a kick up the arse.

The biggest hugs xx

in reply toMarionfromhappydays

Thanks. No it was a shock . He had a small procedure to remove some cancerous growths had a funny turn . Rang me when he got home said he wasn’t feeling great. I offered to go round but he said no as I have covid. Rang later and said he woke up while the toilet to find he had fallen to one side and knocked his face . I offered to go round he said no I said I was going to ring and ambulance but he wanted my brother who really wasn’t interested but he took him to hospital. Asked brother what hospital said he said I don’t know I was outside they put a new covering on face . ( now claims because of covid couldn’t go in 🫤) my sister spoke to him between 8 and 8.15 . He said I’m tired so going to bed . His brother rang numerous times from 8.30 on wards leaving messages but looks like he died as soon as he got in bed his paracetamol was still in his glass .He didn’t answer the phone in the morning so sent hubby who found him. Such a shock . My dad was determined to live as long as possible and really took care of his health. He was hard work in later life major heart attack and triple bypass at 55 changed him beyond recognition but a great bloke when he was younger . He was so scared of dying perhaps it was the best way to go.x

Just seen this Anita. Very sorry for your loss especially about the way it happened. Honestly in many ways we have similar problems with family. My dad was hard work and my brother left it all to me claiming he was "hopeless" at the caring thing and organising things. Convenient I say. You're really struggling right now and he needs to step up to the plate. Xx

I'm so sorry to read this and Kent is roasting. It's like the oven door is open in the garden so we've shut all windows and drawn blinds and curtains and turned on the best bit of electrical gadgetry we've got. An Aircon unit from AO.com Its worth thinking about that most shops have Aircon these days so a trip out in the Aircon car to a shopping centre might be nice. I hope you get on alright and don't forget there is a bit of time so could be worth waiting till later in the week. We've no grass, taken down all the baskets down and put up the side of the house in buckets of water in the shade. We're just going to stay in and read for next few days. But hopefully it'll be all over by Thursday. XX Once again so sorry about your dad.

I’m so sorry to read about your dad, and the things you’ve got to do next. Must have been a huge shock, hopefully your sisters will be home soon and you’ll have some support to sort everything out. Try to take care of yourself - easier said than done though x

So sorry to hear that. It probably was the best way to go for him but hard for you. 💐Is it really necessary for you to do the legal stuff immediately? The advice is not to travel unless absolutely necessary and that's everyone so I'd say definitely for those with RA.

in reply toBoxerlady

I know but it’s complicated.. my family is complicated but dad wanted to be buried asap. My hubby is away from work at the end of the week for a week. My sisters are struggling to get flights back so it will be Thursday at least. I’ve also had to take my dads dog home walking that boy is like taking a steam train out it’s hard work.

Thanks xx

Certainly horribly hot here in Brum. Really not looking forward to today and tomorrow, tonight in particular.

I'm so sorry to hear about your dads. As you say, perhaps a blessing for him if he was scared of dying. My mum keeps often says she wants to 'wake up dead', she fears a big stroke the most I think.I hope you manage to do what you have to do this morning before the temperature really ramps up, that said, do you need an appointment to register his death? You may find the decision taken out of your hands to the cooler days anyway!

Families are complicated . . . and the dog sounds like a character . . . thinking of you as you get your head around all of this, take care and remember, look after you, too.

I'm thinking about a tea towel wrapped around a bag of frozen peas (other veg available!) and hold that for 20 mins or so. Other than that, lots of lying down in a darkened room.

I'm finding frozen flannels a godsend to wrap around joints in this heat. I just put them individually in plastic bags in the freezer . I'd thoroughly recommend this.

Sorry for your loss, what a dreadful time for you. I would have thought his case would be referred to the coroner. Especially given he attended A&E for treatment prior to it happening. Such a sad situation and hope your siblings offer support. Also might be worth checking before heading out in this heat, that it’s not still prebooked appointments only. Take care and sending hugs. 🤗

Sorry to hear your news, I hope your family rally round to help you.Be kind to yourself.

I’m so sorry for your loss. You must be pretty overwhelmed atm. One step at a time starting with you. Maybe telephone the department before heading out as it was a sudden death there may well be a delay before you can make any kind of arrangements. I know you want to stick to your dads wishes but that’s not possible right now a couple of days delay won’t hurt and will give you time to get your head around it first.

I'm sorry to read about your Dad. It sounds like you have so much on your plate now. I hope family do rally round and help you. Leics gives great advice. Giving a call beforehand may save you an unnecessary trip in this hot weather.

So sorry to hear the news about your Dad. I think a lot of families are complicated but it certainly doesn’t make losing them any less difficult, does it. I hope things improve when your sisters get back, they must feel awful too being away at this time. Sending you a big hug and sincere condolences to you and all your family. 🤗
