I would check with your Rheumatology nurse from sure.
I didn't stop methotrexate with my 4th jab. My consultant said to carry on as normal with my medication.
Hope this helps

I had my 5th vaccine on Friday (2nd booster after 3 primary vaccines last year) and my rheumatologist said to miss a dose of MTX after having vaccines? I was planning to miss Mondays dose but now not sure as I've missed so many doses this year with having had shingles in January and then antibiotics for a dental infection last month. My wrists, thumbs and fingers have been particularly sore this last few months and my knees were really bothersome after I'd been off MTX for the shingles.
🥺
I get the Lancet Rheumatology on line and various universities have done research into immuno compromised and suppressed patients ( like us ) and they advised coming off methotrexate 2 weeks before a Covid booster and to stay off for another 2 weeks to give our immune system a chance to make a good antibody response. My GP supported this and I did that and had no adverse result. With my first Astra Zeneca I was still on methotrexate ( my RA got much worse after the jab) I had an antibody test before my second dose - no antibodies were present.Methotrexate did nothing to help me either in tablet or injection form. My RA was awful, CRP of over 100 but just before I was due for my first booster I started to see a chiropractor who was highly recommended for people with RA. Her gentle 10 minute treatments have been amazing. I never went back to methotrexate after my first booster. I felt so much better. It’s 9 months now with no pain and no meds. I walked 9 miles on Wednesday . My consultant says I’m a ‘medical mystery’ and ‘So nothing I have done has got you better .’
I was advised to stop all meds before and 2 weeks after each vaccine. The vaccines need immune system to work with them to give protection, our meds stop our immune system kicking in so stops vaccines working effectively. Must have had some effect as 4 times I've had close contact with Covid, including my partner and daughter and I didn't catch it. Cases at work plus 4 at another daughter's baby shower tested positive couple of days later. X
Wow! There’s no way I could do without pain killers and Prednisone for three weeks. I would just have to ‘chance’ the injections still gave me some protection.
It doesn't mean pred or painkillers sorry , I don't take either, it's referring to biological and dmards such as mtx etc. X
