Sorry to hear you’ve been so unwell. Pneumonia on its own can have a protracted recovery period, never mind the combination you’ve had: it’s not that unusual for a full recovery to take 3 months or more, even with a bout that doesn’t see someone end up in hospital. The nhs state up to 6 months recovery time for severe cases, although they say most really troublesome symptoms should have resolved by the three month mark. I know that’s probably not very reassuring or what you want to hear, but I think it’s going to be a case of taking it day by day in the short term. My daughter has had pneumonia a couple of times as a result of having an underlying respiratory disease, and although young, and generally physically fit and well otherwise, it still took a good couple of months for her to bounce back to school and normal routine properly.

Sorry to hear that you have been so unwell. Recovery is different for everyone, but best not rushed. I'm not sure of your status, if you work or not, but be kind and generous to yourself.Sometimes just getting up , dressed and a short stroll is a big achievement, so acknowledge that in yourself. You are living with RA too, and that takes its toll. Gentle steps forward and maybe even one or two back are ok. Keep moving around your house / garden if you have one, changing position, rotating your ankles but most of all listen to your body, it knows what it needs.

Being soulful is ok.

Sorry to hear you have been so unwell,I have not had your complaint but did have SEPSIS back in 2Ol9 in hospital for 7 weeks took me months to start feeling a bit mor like myself, little steps, best wishes for a compleat recovery.

Sorry to read you've had this x

I was in hospital for 5 days with pneumonia (after being ill previously for about 4 weeks) amd it took me the better part of 2 months to feel better. I felt so weak it was surprising.

Our bodies are amazing things though and you will het there x Take care

I had double pneumonia about 6yr ago, and unfortunately it took 6 months to recover. My energy was non existent, and I had to prioritise what needed to be done, and pace myself. You have been through a lot, so be kind to yourself. Hope you get well soon 🤗

My husband is recovering from double pneumonia he is about 10 weeks post recovery but his X-ray shows he still has a little inflammation and scarring. He’s normally fit and healthy and he still has to watch what he’s doing (tough when you’re used to being 100%). I know everyone is different but his pneumonia on the scale of 0-5, five being the worst his was 0 and it’s still knocked him for 6. So take your time and take it easy don’t try to run before you can walk.

Others have given sound info so I'll say take it easy don't get too frustrated about the long time for the body to recover and get well soon 🤗

Glad you are on the mend💐

Sorry you've been unwell. Pace yourself, it is the main thing I'd say.

I had a lower respiratory infection and was in hospital for a few nights plus had a CT scan for suspected lung clot. I didn't expect to be so exhausted when I got home. It took a few months afterwards to get some energy back. I tried eating good quality fish and chicken more often, plus veg. I felt the protein gave me a boost.

Look after yourself, gentle walks if you can...it must have been frightening, you've certainly been through the mill. 💐 xx
