Do you eat bananas? I find one a day keeps my potassium up and reduces cramp significantly. Also stretching exercises daily before going to bed seem to help my husband.
I suffer dreadfully in my left foot due to shortened tendons. I take a magnesium supplement, as well as spraying magnesium oil on my foot at night. I also wear a compression sock, and so calf stretches daily. Tonic water helps too, or you can ask your GP to try quinine. Sock and oil when used together works best.
I'LL TELL YOU WHAT I TOLD ONE OTHER W/ CRAMPS. I TAKE A POTASSIUM PILL WHEN EVER I START W/ A CRAMP.THIS WORKS FOR ME IN ABOUT 10 MINUTES . I'M CURRENTLY ON METHOTREXATE AND PREDNISONE AND HAVE BEEN FOR 9 YRS. DON'T KNOW WHAT CAUSES THESE CRAMPS BUT THEY REALLY CAN BE NASTY. HOPE THIS HELPS. IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT THE POTASSIUM AND YOUR CURRENT MEDS FOR RA CALL YOUR DR, BUT I THINK THEY SHOULD BE O.K.
