5th covid jab?

Hi ya, I know this is a topic repeatedly questioned?

So i know I'm eligible, but all my coding since moving docs have been messed up so I've had to chase everything myself even antivirals when I had covid 5 weeks ago, 111 hadn't a clue what meds I was on as nothing was showing!

So...... Had my booster(4th) in December, rang docs about my spring booster, they didn't know what that was or basically passed the buck and told me to call 119!

119 didn't have a clue as to what I was talking about either, whether it be a spring or 5th covid jab, I even spoke to a manager who didn't know himself? It's crazy, I've had letter after letter missed out due to NHS coding issues, I've asked my GPS to change them, no response yet from last year after repeated emails?

The guy was great he said you seem to know what your talking about and booked my vaccine for this Friday coming, but I'm now worried if I should have it as nobody knew anything about me! I feel a fraud to be fair, even though I know I am correct and eligible?

Any clues as to why to do regards to coding etc, as alot of info is being missed?

😊

I enquired at my gp reception who initially didnt know anything about it . I then had a call a couple of days to go in and get my 5th jab. There were a whole lot of us getting the 5th one for a variety of reasons . The doc said its for older 75 yrs + and those immunosupressed . I had my 4th in Jan , so as long as its 3 months after your last one it should be fine

Good for you trying to get it sorted! I think it’s the SNOMED code on the Covid dashboard that needs to be added by the GP surgery (at mine the administrator that does this is called the Covid lead). The code reflects what immune suppressing medications you have and any other underlying health issues. If you continue to have problems getting it sorted ask for an appointment with the Practice Manager.

I’ve now booked my spring booster, my 5th jab. (It will be more than 91 days since my last jab, which is as advised.) I intend to take with me a letter from my Rheumatologist showing I’m entitled to it which lists the drugs I’m prescribed.

Good luck Dave!

Hopefully once you get your 5th the nurse will input it into their computer and it will sort it out. I got my letter with appointment time for my 5th one, I’ve been to a different place every time I get mine. This time though my husband is getting his 4th one at the same place and same time as me. This is a first as we have had to travel miles to get them. It’s even in our town this time. At last something sensible has happened.

Did you get a letter eventually from your specialist re being eligible for the 3rd primary dose. Alternatively if your repeat prescription shows your meds they will accept that. They also accept medication boxes with your name and date dispensed as proof when you attend to have the vaccine. My understanding is that even if the codes are changed now, you would still need to be referred by gp or specialist to the local CMDU unit, specialists were asked to do this for anyone started on immunosuppressants in the last 6 months, those that had been logged earlier would have been picked up by nhs digital. Here’s what I was sent as evidence accepted for 5th dose

Hi Dave74. I booked my fifth jab on NHS web site as immunosuppressed and took proof of meds with me. Booked a covid walk in vaccine centre nobody asked for any evidence they just put me in the queue. I was 93 days after my fourth. I took the advice of lots of members on this wonderful informative platform. Thank you everyone for knowing more than the GPs.
