Peripheral Neuropathy

Hi everyone. I am experiencing some painful sensations in my legs and I am slightly concerned about peripheral neuropathy but have taken mxt for 20 years without any problems. The only way I can describe the pain is similar to when you have been out in the snow too long and your hands go numb and then you go back inside and your hands start to warm up, they are very painful. I do have a bit of lightheadedness as well and have blood sugar drops. I have been tested for diabetes but it is a long time ago. I am also sèeing an Osteopath at the moment for back problems so I suppose it could be that. They only started after my last visit on friday. I was wondering if any of you have had neuropathy and what symptoms you experienced. Thank you all for listening. xx

Sorry to hear this Sheila and you could be right about the Osteopath - have you tried ringing and asking if the treatment you had Friday could possibly be responsible?

No I haven't because we have had our granddaughter staying with us. My husband has just taken her home now. I will ring the Osteopath tomorrow. Thank you for your reply and the suggestion.

If the Osteopath doesn't consider the treatment is responsible, at least it's been ruled out. Good luck.

Hi, I have polyneuropathy but in my feet, also Reynaud's syndrome in feet and hands which sounds similar with numbness , white fingers and painful when it warms up but again usually in extremities. This can be diagnosed by tests from a neurologist. Good luck.

Thank you for your reply. Much appreciated. If you don't mind me asking, do you know if yours was caused by medication? You don't need to answer this question if you would rather not.

Yes probably but it is not clear which. Possibly steroids.

Hi Sheila I have had a similar thing affected my arms fingers , awful pain and tingling was given amatrypline which has really helped , you must tell your GP it feels like neuropathic. 👍

Thank you for your reply. It appears that my back must be responsible and as it (my back) has settled so has the strange feeling in my legs. It looks like the problem no longer exists so that's a relief. Thanks again.
