Thanks, Amy_Lee - it can be tricky to know; honestly, as my pain is always in my left hand, I guess I am not. It's all good, though - I remain optimistic it shall improve.

Good to know that you are much better now, hope you can continue to improve and eventually you will have no more pain and inflammation and go into remission in the near future.
In my case, I was already many months without pain and inflammation, my ESR and CRP were within the normal range also, but my rheumy continued to observe me until much later then only he declared my remission. At that time, I was too new to understand what remission was all about. This article is really a good read for me.
