Sorry to hear about your health troubles. UTIs are the worst! Consider adding probiotics to your daily routine (1-2) daily which are effectively 'good bacteria' we all have in our gut. 70% of the immune system is also located in our guts and when there is an imbalance with our bacteria (bad outweighs good) it can lead to yeast infections and Utis. I swear by probiotics and take 2 daily . They can be purchased from amazon and are not overly expensive (10-11pounds for 60 tabs).
Anti biotics also cant tell the differenve between good and bad bacteria and kill both when used which is why probiotics are great to help the re balance . Always finish your anti biotic course of course! But by adding probiotics to your daily routine, it might help keep UTIs at bay. I suffered constantly from them years ago (5 in one year) started probiotics and none since. They are pretty much health supplements but you can chat to your doc prior to taking them. Hope that helps and feel better soon! x

Unfortunately many of the drugs we have to take for RA make us more susceptible to all types of infection anyway. And getting UTIs is an added problem for women and especially if post-menopausal. Probiotics are good to improve our gut microbiome anyway and especially if we’ve had to take antibiotics. They may help prevent UTIs but ladies, if you do get them frequently, ask your GP to prescribe Ovestin cream for you which really will make a difference. And taking D:mannose either as tablets or as powder in water will help to clear one out of your system quickly.
This advice was given to me by a consultant urologist because I kept getting them when I started biologic drugs for RA and I was already taking probiotics daily.
Lolabridge, Very helpful to read about the cream you mention. I have bought dissolvable powders from the chemist on many occasions. Good to read your advice today. 😊. thanks
After having almost constant UTIs for a number of months I came across d mannose from a company called sweet cures and it honestly changed my life. Not cheap but a real game changer in treating symptoms without harsh antibiotics all the time.
