Hiya Manchestermum. You may have been slightly dehydrated when the test was taken as it's only very slightly out of range, I wouldn't think it needs further action, except maybe to re-test at some stage. Was it taken as part of drug monitoring at all, to keep a check that the meds you take for your RD or another condition aren't messing with your liver or kidneys? The only other thing I can think of is if you are diabetic controlled by insulin. That can skew results.

Hi no I’m not on meds now was on naproxen but come of them few week ago thay tested it for annual blood testing and not dibetic I do feel like I’m peeing more so need to pick up antibiotics for suspected uti to be honest I don’t drink a lot my last test 3 week ago cos the test had to be repeated it was normal 47 and now it’s jumped in space of 3 weeks

Sudafed (pseudoephedrine), decongestants in general, & both paracetamol & ibuprofen can all potentially affect the result as they are either metabolised by the liver or kidneys, as could naproxen had you only just stopped it at the time of the blood test. A UTI can also give a falsely elevated result, so there are a few things which may be causal. But again, it's such a small amount, just the 1 point, over the value range I really wouldn’t be concerned if it was me. It is always better to discuss your concerns with the medical professional who ordered the bloods, that or ask them to explain what each result means. This is what my Rheumy's have always done. That way they can allay any concerns you may have.

So, do you not take anything at all for your RD? Or is it that you’ve not had a confirmed diagnosis yet?

If you're taking sertraline (an SSRI) & they stopped the naproxen were you told that you could take ibuprofen? I only ask as both are NSAIDs.

If it was me and mine was 1 over the reference range I wouldn't be worried.

Dehydration or a high protein diet are very common causes of a raised albumin but to be honest 1 over I would doubt would be classed as significant (not that I am a Dr).

Your kidneys and liver have a big part in albumin regulation and if this result is from the same sample as your sodium etc you showed previously your kidney function (GFR) was totally normal.

If they are going to give you your blood results they really should be explaining them to you as its obviously making you understandably edgy x
