Hi all, a wee bit of history, I’ve had RA for almost 5 years. I had a knee replacement a year ago and everything was going well until recently.
I’ve been getting a lot of pain in my neck, wrists and upper arms. It’s much worse at night and is interrupting my sleep. I saw a dr last week and had a steroid injection. That was 5 days ago and the pain has not really improved. Am I being impatient? Also wondering if this is polimyalgia?
So many questions!
Thanks xx

Hi , that sounds so hard for you. I'm afraid though this would be one to call your rheumy hotline about. You would imagine the steroids would have started to kick in for the RA , so for me call the doctors xx hope you feel better very soon x
Have you had any physiotherapy at all? It could be that since the knee op, you’ve been sitting differently, walking differently and so on. Things then get out of balance and the muscles become unhappy. Just the way you describe it reminds me of the musculoskeletal issues my fibro brings - so I’d be tempted to ask for some physio sessions. And chat to your rheumy team of course as Alex suggests! Wishing you well xx
Morning
I have found steroid injections a bit hit and miss . They have worked within hours but only lasted a day or two. They have not worked at all but my last one took over a week but lasted 12weeks . 🤷♀️🤷♀️can never rely on them . Do give them call they need to know x
