Just a quick update to say thanks for those that gave me so many tips and things to do and sort Thursday. Getting a peak flow tube has already made me realise how poor my asthma is right now but also my understanding of asthma and how to control it is too weak. Been thinking it was RA issues as well but need to get it managed.

In my experience with family members even sometimes just being given an inhaler and no specific information lead to for one in particular having a respiratory nurse to come out, to find not only the type of inhaler was not right for them but also how they were not getting enough of the inhaler, by the way they were using it (which included use of a spacer) and just by demonstrating with them how to breath out and in effectively prior to taking it and giving clear information/ discussion around their inhalers, usage and finding the right one that in their case did not need a spacer lead to an improvement. So wonder if where you are such a service exists in the community? Just a thought x

I have been lucky sometimes to have a great doc or nurse here snd there who have explained bits to me. It’s a shame some don’t do it more. It makes it a lot easier to manage and keep ourselves out of trouble. My current gp is amazing (I think I may have told you all 🤔😂) ... he gets that I need the detail not smoke and mirrors. He launches straight in with proper info as soon as I ask a question... poor man having to deal with me lol 😂
I have had Asthma all my life and now i have lung issues due in part to MTX causing a ground glass appearance which at the last ct scan had gone. The other lung problems still exist though.xxx
Sorry for that Sylvi. I hope they are treating it better now. You were having problems not so long ago and meds weren’t quite helping if I remember?
I have tablets and inhaler for the copd. So it is better managed, but it is still difficult when i talk too much and on my feet too much.xxxx
🤗 keep ok with it Sylvi. I imagine you’ve told them that it’s still a problem so they can adjust or rethink the meds to get it right. 🤞🏻

Yes you are right sylvi about being on your feet and talking, one of my family found even walking into another room or coming/going into a different or change in temperature would have them wheezing and gasping.
Hi Dee,It would be worth asking for the pneumonia vaccine if you’ve not already had it... it’s a one off and not a yearly thing.

Agreed and goodness me yes... I hope Dee you have both the pneumonia and the flu vaccine perhaps need to wait until after the Covid vaccine? Maybe in 4 weeks time after? Best check with your rheumy. X
