Afternoon folks,it’s a sad day as my darling wife lost her big Sister to Cancer last night after a courageous battle , she’s now at peace but what’s going to be surreal is we don’t think the rest off her brothers or sisters will be able to attend her funeral as she had a big family. We’ll just have to wait and see with the numbers game as I think your only allowed 20 people and I think that includes the funeral staff etc,it will break her heart if we can’t attend as she is the youngest off 7 and looked up too her big sister,I’m glad I can share here as it’s a weight off my shoulders and I know everyone on here understands, stay safe xxx

I am so sorry for your loss. It’s very difficult to be able to say goodbye at this time as well. I lost my father in November and surreal it surely was. Zoom it was for many because most couldn’t come as it was too risky. I have set my heart on a proper goodbye when all of this is over. Please pass my best wishes on to your wife. 💕

Hello rab1874Sorry to hear about your loss.

According to gov.uk you can have up to 30 family and friends attend a funeral but it does depend on whether the venue can accommodate the mourners safely.

Many funeral places have good remote streaming options, and plan a lovely memorial for sometime in the future.... a sad time, so look after yourself.

So sorry for your loss. I have attended quite a few zoom services now and it felt safer than being there no matter how much I wanted to be xx o think many people will try services after the pandemic restrictions lift x

So sorry to hear of your loss and my sincere condolences to everyone. Yes it's really hard when family and close friends cannot attend. I took part in a lovely Zoom memorial for a dear lady who was a neighbour and demon bridge opponent. It was very moving, and we all raised a glass and toasted her at the end.

I'm so sorry to hear of your troubles, Rab. There's never a good time for news like this but the restrictions on numbers makes it worse somehow. My sister in law died last Tuesday so I have some idea of the awfulness of the situation. Please give your wife a big hug from me.

I'm so sorry to hear this rab, condolences to you both, it's awful isn't it when you lose a relative you are so close to. I think the numbers allowed at funerals are thirty but don't know if it's the same in Scotland - I don't see why not. I hope it all goes as well as it can under the circumstances. Love to you both. xx

Hi rab1874. So sorry for your wife's loss. I lost my mum at the start of the new year, she lived in London, I live in Dorset, but as the crematorium has live feed I will attend remotely. It has been a long wait to get a date for the funeral. The Covid situation has made a traumatic time even harder for family and friends of loved ones. My heart goes out to your wife and you at this time.

So sorry Rab and Gnarli. I'm sure that those you have lost would not want you to take unnecessary risks, so perhaps zoom would be safer. The important thing is that you have them in your thoughts. Take care x
