My right knee is hot and extremely swollen, it is twice the size of the other side. It feels heavy and is painful! Should I go to the doctor's? I suppose I feel like it's not an emergency and I don't want to take an appointment away from someone who really needs it. So what do you think guys?
Take care everyone. X

You should go to the doctor...you just need to decide how urgently. How long has it been like this? And did it happen suddenly overnight? Or has it been developing slowly? And do you have a temperature?
This happened to me in 2011 . My knee swelled up and was burning hot . It turned out to be “ gout”. You do need to contact doctor as soon as possible to find out what’s going on
You need to contact your medical team now. Why should your needs be any less deserving than other people's?
This happened to my ankle and calf only the other week. Take a photo email it to your nurse contact your Gp. Could just be RA related but it’s better to be safe than sorry. If it gets hotter and more painful seek medical help ASAP. Rest ice is the way to go.
Hi guys, didn't go to the doctor's, just rested up. The pain has gone and the swelling going down. Thanks for your replies.I have just started on a cut down and doing more exercise. I am hoping my knee carries on not hurting! I think it was a wake up call to lose weight!! Take care everyone. X
