KEVZARA INJECTIONS FOR RA
Is anyone having the above injections know about bio... - NRAS
Is anyone having the above injections know about biologic medication. I have come out in a rash/dry very sore patches on my arms, legs, back
Hello angel-delight.I’m sorry I’ve no experience of that drug which I’ve googled and discovered is Sarilumab.
However I would always report any rash or possible allergic reaction to my Rheumatologist and/or GP and seek their advice straight away.
In the meantime if you have any antihistamines at home you could try taking one to see if that helps. 🤞🏻
Thank you Lolabridge,My family doctor, Rheumatologist and I had a virtual appt with a Dermatologist
last week. I have been told to stop the new injections and the bone medication which I started about the same time. I am waiting to hear back from the Dermatologist who mentioned that I may see her in the clinic.
My new Rheumy has been very helpful and has increased the prednisolone slightly to help with the pain and is following up on Feb 9th with a tell appt. We are in lockdown here too in Canada.
Most calls are by telephone from the doctor.
Hope you are keeping well and safe.
Take care, Sue
Sorry I have no experience ... as said already you really should report these ... to healthnet (or whoever delivers your meds to you) as well as your rheumy team. 🍀

Hi I'm a bit late but I am on Kevzara and have come out in a rash around neck arm and in mouth and nose. Have reported to rheumy but awaiting any responce. What happened in the end with your rash did it go or did they change meds? Many thanks
Thank you for your response Alicepirate, I saw a Dermatologist who did a biopsy and it came back positive for psoriasis. I was referred to a specialist who works with patients with RA . He didn't know if it was Kevzara that caused the rash but it certainly made it worse. I was told to stop the Kevzara injections and the specialist put me on several ointment medication. Eventually I was able to have Cimzia injections which is a RA injection that works well with someone who has psoriasis. My only problem was that I was diagnosed with a really nasty kidney infection and had to stop the injections. I am still not back on the Cimzia injections and in a lot of RA pain. I hope this helps you, I suggest you need to contact your Rheumy or nurse. I had to send photos of my rash to begin with then a virtual appointment before seeing the specialist who does research in RA/psoriasis. I see the specialist again at the end of June.
I hope this helps you.
Thankyou sorry to hear you have such complex picture it sounds v difficult to manage . I 've never had anything like this before I am awaiting reply from rheumtologist I rang them this morning could be just an odd happening I suppose unrelated to the biologic I also feel ill I thought it was shingles to start with.
Thanks again for your rapid reply v kind of you
👍😍
Good luck with the results from your doctor. Apparently it is quite common for people to get psoriasis when on biologic medications especially injections. I haven't had psoriasis before, only a rash on my chest after taking Sulfasalazine for 5 years. Hopefully, I can get back on the Cimzia injections soon, Iwas just starting to feel like they were starting to give me some relief.
It certainly isn't any fun having RA/D. I have a great Rheumatologist now and he is calling me again the end of June.
Take care, 😊😺😺 I have 2 cats that keep me happy 😊
