Microscopic polyangiitis. Has anyone had an Elisa test? What units are they in and what is considered a normal range?

It isn’t available in the UK on the NHS for diagnosing RA, so you might get more answers on a US forum.

I wonder why not? Have you ever requested one? Apparently it measures the activity of the anca.

It is used for certain things here, but rarely as a diagnostic or predictive tool when RA is suspected. My guess is because the cost-benefits aren’t positive. And anca vasculitis is not a common feature in people with RA.

Try on the polymyalgia forum perhaps, as might be used more for GCA vasculitis. Or on lupus one.

Hi Just spoken to my doctor to review my latest blood results. I asked about the elisa test and he look through my results and said they weren't recorded on my Patient view page. ( A very useful tool) But I have had two Elisa results the first when I was diagnosed in August was 180+ units per volume ( I think it was x ml) The second (in December) 3 months after my rituximab infusion was less than 3 (Classed as undetectable.) He said they will only carry out another test if my condition starts to deteriorate.

Not what you're looking for?
