How affective are steroid infusions?

My CRP has shot up to 185, the worst I’ve ever had. Yesterday I was given a prednisone infusion. I can’t have tablets as I have some inflammation in my stomach and injections never do anything goof me. Has anyone found that they are effective and for how long? Any advice greatly received .

I had one once as my rheumy prefers this. It was methlyprednisone, and worked fine for around 6 weeks.

Really hoping I get relief for that period of time, even a month would be something. Day 1 I’d say I’ve got 50% relief. My knees are so bad. Are you living in France H H? French drs prefer avoiding giving meds that go to the stomach dont they? Due to naproxen I have inflammation in my stomach. I lived in Greece for some years and there you can only be on it up to 17 days whereas here I was given it until my anaemia got so bad.

For me, amazing, worked within 24/48 hours and lasted about 3 months. Only thing was I swelled up a bit, but the water went off and I got time where I felt much much better. Hope yours helps!!

That would be wonderful ! The best Christmas present . Day 1 I feel 50% better but my knees are just awful.Thanks for getting back to me.

I was fine felt like a new body lasted for about 3 months while my biolic benepali kicked in I would definitely have a nother one good luck

My consultant put me on it about 15 months ago and I am good I am also on methotrexate injections both of them every week lot better than I was I would say I am about 80% still have bad days but not so often and not so painful good luck stay safe 😷any questions this is the place to be x
