Hi- I’m new to this post. I have had RA for 2 years been on lots of meds & had weird side effects. I’ve lost my taste from Leflunomide over a year ago! What’s a “wash out” no Drs have been able to help.

I had kidney failure not due to LEF , and advised its used so rarely and is unpleasant and actually LEF is present for months but in such small amounts that a wash out would be futile. Its barely there which is why its taken every day. You can look up the procedure but how are you sure it's down to the LEF, ? have you asked your GP as my husband lost his sense of taste through a bought of flu a few years ago and is perfectly healthy. I think better to ask to see an ENT consultant really.

I’d do what Medway-Lady said.. and welcome on board!

I was on Leflunomide. It can stay in the system for approx two years. I came off it 13 months ago.

Worst bad effect with it, for me, was terribly dry skin, mouth etc. Awful, had to be constantly sipping water, always had a bottle wherever I went.

I hope you find some answers to your loss of taste predicament.
