Hi everyone

Just wanted to let you know about a great centre in Birmingham called BARC, located on the 5th floor of the central library.

The centre provides a raft of information on the whole spectrum of arthritic diseases in many different languages, making sure they are available to as many communities as possible.

Drop in if you live locally and are able, or visit the website, which is barc.org.uk.

The phone number is 0121 464 2708

They are a very friendly team of people who offer advice to both those suffering and their families. Appointments are not necessary.

Sorry guys should have mentioned there is a lift all the way else i wouldnt have got up there myself, i think theres esculators too.

Thats interesting now you come to flag it up is there any relationship between RA and different ethnic communities? I mean is there a greater or lesser incidence in any particular groups.

Now starting to think about how inclusive and diverse NRAS is as an organisation.

This is a fantastic resource! Someone has told me about it previously ... but I just happen to live too far away. Great for those nearby though :)

It will be moving to the first floor soon, and I believe has some space in the new library being built. While I was a volunteer there it was plagued by lift and escalator failures, so people couldn't get up there. There's some wonderful volunteers still there and Chan the centre manager is a wonderful lady.

Barc have been working on getting leaflets and other information translated for many years and are always adding new material.
