Duloxetine and false negative pregnancy test

I recently missed my p and have all the symptoms of pregnancy but a home test came back negative. I also have Crohn's so avoiding public places due to covid 19 so nervous about contacting my doctor.

Can taking duloxetine cause a false negative?

I read that some antianxiety medication can but can't find any info on this anywhere. Someone please advise

Thank you

I can't find anything that makes pregnancy tests falsely negative apart from preparations containing hormones or occasionally the urine being very dilute (because of drinking a lot) in the very early stages when your hormone levels are low.

I think, in your place, I'd want an appointment with my GP. If nothing else it would help put your mind at rest

In my career I have run 1000s urine pregnancy tests and have never heard of this.

However, some batches of pregnancy tests can give a false negative.

Did the "control" line come up clearly?

It might be worth doing a second test.

Have you started any new meds recently that could affect your periods, for example steroids can stop periods in some people?

Hi Thank you very much for your reply, the control line was clearly there but quite faint. I haven't been on any other medication apart from the Duloxetine and haven't had a course of steroids since February. I'm worried as I already have 2 girls and 3 step kids.

If it were me I would do another test.
