Sometimes you might need to take it for longer, even many years. Some people don't need to take lansoprazole every day and take it only when they have symptoms. Once you feel better (often after a few days or weeks), you can stop taking it. Taking lansoprazole in this way is not suitable for everyone.

I miss it for a day and I'm drinking pepto by the bottle.

I have stopped and started . Now realising its takes much longer to settle down. Last time 4 weeks so now I’ve learnt my lesson and take it everyday. Like you really notice I’m suffering if I miss it especially now with RA meds
