Inflammatory arthritis is a general category of diseases. Often it takes time to work out which precise one you have, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis etc etc.
So rheumatologist has not yet been able to narrow down what you have beyond that. However is also flagging up that you have an erosive disease - which these are. I think you are sero-negative? Sometimes people assume that sero-negative inflammatory arthritis is non-erosive, so this is clarifying that it isn’t.
This is quite a helpful preliminary diagnosis as it guides what treatment you will be offered to prevent further erosions. But it may become clearer at a later date exactly which type of inflammatory arthritis.
My Rheumatologist used this description in 2019:-
1. RA (RF-, ACPA-, severely erosive)
2. Degenerative joint disease
Hi Bigal, NRAS has a leaflet about Inflammatory Arthritis that may be of use to you.

I hope you will make good progress. All the best.
