Just read this on my crome home page about baricitinib and wondered if anyone else has read it and is it believable

Is this real news
I read somewhere that artificial intelligence had identified it's 'theoretical' potential. If Covid causes inflammation rheum drugs seem potentially intetesti g.
Yes, just heard this too!
I used to be on Baracitinib. Very interesting article. Covid-19 does cause inflammation in the lungs so seems feasible.
There’ve been quite a few articles about the possibility of a range of drugs used for RA being helpful in treating Covid-19. It’s something to do with the way they pinpoint very small and specific bits of the immune system to stop it going haywire (or in our case to get it back from being haywire).
Fingers crossed.
im on this too - i did read about this too ! we will see lets hope so. its an amazing treatment but ive gained alot of weight since starting this xx at least now i am so settled and in 80% control of mt RA xx i can actually exercise
Can't wait to be able to exercise properly again. I have gained 2 stone! Heaviest ever in my life!
dont get me wrong i cant over do it - i can manage the cross trainer now for 40 mins a step up from literally 3 mins a month ago xx never thought id do it! and normally when i go to the gym im asked whats up why are you stopping? and i think here we go - tell my speil and low and behold i do more blethering than excercising X
That's really good though! I'm jealous! 🤗. Just want to feel fit again, have a swim and steam after gym.
Keep going girl, well done! xx
I don't believe a word of it.
Why not Bunty?
I can't help but think of Trump's campaign to push hydroxychloroquine! Scary s#it that.
I slways worry when drugs are touted as the next best thing with very little evidence. I particularly dislike the use if drugs off label.
Thank you for your answer Trump is always scary but this is'nt being touted as the next best thing it is just one of many drugs that is being researched to see if it can be a treatment for covid 19. Not sure if its an of label drug as its use is to block inflammation in RA
I believe it yo be true my GP mentioned it to me last week ( I've now stopped baricitinib)
I started tocilizumab injections 6 weeks ago and have not seen any benefit yet, though i have been going through a particularly bad time for the last 4-5 months. I had this drug via infusions many years ago. It seemed to help then. Hope it helps.
It is helping thank you, I'm taking the baricitinib in pill form. Was told it is a new drug so I agreed to try it
