Imuran

Have any of you been on imuran for your RA before? I just started it I am on day 3 or 4 of it. Tonight I feel bad. Like so weak and hurting pretty bad. That being said I have been like this anyway but tonight it feels worse. I was just wondering if maybe the medicine is just getting into my system and this will pass. Any thoughts on this?

Imuran = azathioprine. If you put that in the search box you will find previous posts.

I've been on that (as a last resort of the DMARDs) for nearly ten years now.

Like other DMARDs it takes time to work, so if you have only been on it for a short time your pain and stiffness is unlikely to be improved yet.

If you are having lots of problems you might need a short course of steroids to tide you over until it is effective. If you can just about cope, then look forward to better times, use distraction and small pleasures.

Great answer old timer xxxx I would add I hope you start to feel better soon and I hope you could get a short course of steroid xxx
