Alternative to methotrexate that work as well

Hello, I wondered about alternatives for methotrexate I am having more trouble with very low white blood counts, I'm afraid that I will have to discontinue. More than likely I won't be able to use biologics due to the fact that I have a very high deductible.

Are you in the US?

In UK we do have many Dmards available if you can’t tolerate Mtx...but fortunately we can usually be given what our rheumatologist thinks the best option without restraints from insurance companies.

If you have a commercial insurance, such as Blue Cross, most drug companies have a co-pay assistance program that your rheumatologist can set up for you. Usually then a $5 co-pay per month. I’m on my third biologic and have used that for all of them.

Also, there are other DMARDs than methotrexate.

Talk with your rheumatologist about your concerns.
