I’m being more neurotic/sensible/cautious ( take your pick) than you. Probably everyone on this forum is immunosuppressed. I’ve read that this makes us more vulnerable to catching the virus. I’m not quite sure how that works as the virus doesn’t target us.

But I was told by my consultant that if I did get it, I wouldn’t stand a chance because of pulmonary fibrosis (ILD) and being 75. So no concerts, theatre or cinema for me, or public transport. I live in London.

I’m not at all well at the moment, flaring badly, so isolation is not really a problem. But I do need to eat.

I have M&S just around the corner, but I can’t decide whether it’s safe to get a friend to shop for me, or whether I should use Ocado and ask the delivery guy to put the stuff on the doorstep.

I think it’s more the impact the virus might have on you than being targeted. It’s hard to decide what to do, I’m meeting a friend for lunch today but don’t have any more plans for a while and am quite happy with that.

I met with a friend for lunch yesterday, she too has RD and I hadn't been able to see her for a while. We were the only ones in there. The place had extra hand sanitizing facilities in place which I thought was good. I was due to go to the theatre next week but have decided not to go, it's an old theatre and I don't feel there is sufficient air conditioning/ventilation and feel for me given my current health it's too risky. Again I'm due at the doctors next week and if I feel this too is a risk, even though I need the appointment I may switch to a telephone consultation. I think it's a case of ongoing reviewing of things as I'm on my own and have to think about the impact this would have and how I will cope.

I’ve got tickets booked to see Nile Rodgers at The Royal Albert Hall at the end of the month. I so want to go. If it isn’t cancelled I’ll still be going but I know I’m nowhere near as bad as many of the folk on here. But you Allanah, why did you decide to carry on as normal?

I so hope that you do get to The Royal Albert Hall Caza. Take care x

So do I. I was meant to be going to Les Mis next week but my friend has moved the tickets to September & the theatre were quite happy to agree, speaks volumes I think 🤔

I will keep going till they close.

I've been through HIV, SARS, Ebola scares when I travelled and did everything I should and didnt catch anything.

I did catch swine flu at a festival , stayed in bed solated myself and got over it , I would hope people are sensible and self isolate if feeling I'll.

Like all viruses it is awful but it will pass and I'm hoping before Glastonbury !

I am carrying on as normal but definitely also doing more thorough hand washing for 20 seconds including between fingers, wrists, etc.

I went to the cinema on Tuesday and had booked for the 19th too, so am going unless they cancel.

I was out with my sister to a tearoom in New Abbey yesterday then to a Bible study group in the evening too.

I will not panic, just stay sensible and be alert for fever, dry cough and any updates from WHO, Government etc.

If I need to, I will call the GP or 111. We cannot control the virus but we can behave with common sense.

In my defence I said all the youngsters said ...they want to still go out ! We are going on a spa weekend this weekend , we are nervously as a bunch of 60 year olds going, their website says still go.

I’m 66, still going out. No cases here yet but not far away eg Ayrshire and over the border (approx 45 miles) in Carlisle. X

It will definitely spread bit I know things like mumps is highly infectious more so than carona but people eont even get their kids vaccinated, we live in a mad world !

We certainly do live in a mad world and we all live in it together. I think everyone has to go with their own situation and in this instance there is no right or wrong decision/ choice just your own based upon your own set of circumstances which may change or be reviewed at any time. As we have said on this forum prior to any corona virus we all share things in common with RD but we all have our own unique journey. Sending you my best wishes, Pip

Hi pip. I've thought about this, I dont have serious chest problems or diabetes. My white cell count is only slightly lowered, there was a dr on tv who said it's a fragile virus which doesng cope outdoors but thrives indoors so it makes sense to me to go out in the fresh air! Being a nurse for a long time yoo probably changes my ideas as we deal with infectious illnesses every day so its normal to me to do the usual keeping safe stuff, and I've had radiotherapy since 2011 and since then always been careful but I wont wrap myself up in a bubble.

I hope this will be short lived tho and the summer kills it off ...

I think we all want this thing to be short lived and to be gone. As I've said I don't have a problem with people making their choices which lends to their circumstances and personal situations. In my case I have multiple complex illnesses, including white cell problems and chest issues and recently have had some abnormal blood test results regarding other things, alongside other ongoing issues. I'm due to see my GP soon about this. So I am just making choices for my own set of circumstances from day to day. So totally understand where you are coming from in your situation and experience. Best wishes,
