Methotrexate problems?

I have now been taking methotrexate by Injection for 5 weeks and have been suffering from bad stomach pains. As I also have crohns disease this seems to e affected as WELL!!! Anybody else have this problem and does it ease OFF?

I agree with pink lamb to discuss with your rheumy.

I don't want to alarm you but Methotrexate can cause stomach ulcers. Does your specialist team have a helpline?

Stop taking it and caĺl your rheumatologist asap

Switch to the injections. Supposed to be less upsetting to the stomach than the pill form.

I am sorry to report that after 9 months of MTX injections, my Rhuemy took me off----the side affects were so horrible..........felt like I had been drinking post injection for up to 4 days each week. It may have helpted the RA--but kept me bedridden. I also had loose diarrhea 4-6 times a day! and NO -I did not lose weight!
