I have seen a chiropractor after a bad flare and she gave me a massage from top to bottom which really helped with stiffness after a flare.

I recently bought a shiatsu foot massager which I use daily.tremendous results feet much more flexible and swelling reduced haven’t suffered with morning stiffness for 6 weeks.

I don’t know enough about PMR to advise but my daughter & I had hot stones massage (saw leaflet at OT appointment) & it was great treat, came out walking on air. Don’t think i’d be able to in flare as couldn’t get up on table 😉 x

I can think of nothing worse during a flare. I find the weight of a sheet on me to be intolerable, let alone someone touching me.

I’ve never been able to tolerate massage since having RA especially in a flare. I’m so tense and concerned they are going to hurt me or even just move wrongly that it defeats the object of it. You can only try it out and see what it does for you 😊
