Palandromic rheumatism and CCP Antibody strong positve

Hello everyone.

Two questions really.

1. What can I take for menopause symptoms on methotrexate. I have been taken of HRT sadly due to my mothers recent Palliative Cancer diagnosis. And my nightsweats, emotional changes are back with vengeance. Which is needed like a hole in the head right now.

2. Has anybody else been in this position below, under rheumatologists direction going to be taken off Methotrexate in two years time to see what happens? Obviously I prefer not to be taking DMARDs drugs.

I have been diagnosed Palandromic rheumatism and CCP Antibody strong positve. I have had reccurring symptom and remissions since 2009. Began with onset of menopause in my opinion.

I am aware that this could be a precurser to Rheumatoid Arthritis and I am happy/lucky that so far there is no lasting damage.

Currently I am on Methotrexate 15mg and that seems to be working wonderfully. Despite overwhelming fatigue, I thankfully rarely suffer pains anymore. Apart from a GP diagnosed " a deep set fatty lump" on my hip!?

Sorry about this long winded post. There are always so many questions.

Thank you Charisma I'll look into the link. Me too, people who have RA pain persistently amaze me how they HAVE to cope. I am glad mine comes and goes for that reason.

A site I’ve found useful for menopause, and which is run by doctors, is this one;

But as charisma says you’ll have to check interactions with MTX as their advice is generic not specific to people with RA.

Presumably if you taper off MTX in due course, and symptoms return, they will put you back on it with no delay. I had an attempt to get off drugs, bit it didn’t work.
