Hello Pudding, I hope it works well for you. For me, I was very anaemic, swollen hands and wrists that I had endured for about 12 months but the symptoms cleared within two to three weeks. The nurse had warned me that it might take 3-4 months so happily she was very wrong! Relatively speaking, "all of a sudden" I was back to normal and need minimal other medication nowadays, nine years later.
I think that my anaemia responded so quickly because having chronic [=long-standing anaemia] my body was already stimulated to produce more red blood cells and when the Humira started the brakes were off so I replenished red blood cells quickly. In fairness I was also put on methotrexate as well but have not had that for the last six and a half years and Humira works on its own.
Hello Pudding, I am intrigued to find out how you are getting on. I was on Enbrel for several years and plodding on okish😬. I was then swapped to Benepali about a year ago and am just going down and down feeling totally exhausted and soooo much pain in my hands, feet and back etc. I saw the biological nurse at the end of November and she agreed that treatment probably wasn’t working so she was given permission to change my meds to Imraldi the biosimilar version of Humira. My injections arrived on Tuesday evening and I will have my first injection on Saturday. I feel slightly apprehensive but excited at the same time as I have heard such good reviews about the drug. I hope that your symptoms improve soon. Best of luck and wishing you a happy Christmas and a fabulous New Year. Bessieboo xx
