Did you get side-effects when you tapered off of prednisolone?

Hi!

I did a previous post about itchy skin and was trying to figure out what was causing it. After a couple of weeks of using eco clothes soap and e45 in shower it became clear that these products weren't the problem. I figured this could be 'winter itch' because weirdly enough, when I showered without using a towel I didn't feel as itchy (maybe the abrasion was drying my skin?).

At a loss, I spoke to the pharmacist this morning to see what normally helps winter itch. When I mentioned I was currently tapering off prednisolone he said it would be a side-effect of that. In the past two months I have gone from 15mg/day to 5mg/day and within a week of being on 5mg the itching started.

What has your experience been when tapering off steroids? Let me know!

I haven't had itching tapering off steroids, but I do get itching at the beginning of winter when my skin gets dry and flakier than usual.

yes could just be the cold weather...
