I’ve been taken off methotrexate

I’ve recently been taken off methotrexate due to high liver readings. I’m now taking leflunomide and plaquenol

Since the switch I’ve flared up and in agony every day. Does anyone know how long these new drugs take to work?

Most people seem to respond in 3 to 6 months, occasionally more quickly. Can you have steroids (injection or tablets) to cover you while you make the switch?

Lynda, I have been on 20mgs of leflunomide for a month now and, so far, no improvement. I know it takes awhile, but I am very frustrated.

Lynda, it's now been about 8 weeks on lef and I now have a lot less pain. Yahoo! I can only hope it continues.
