Breathless with Rumy?

Hi All, I do suffer with breathlessness and have had a stent fitted, however I see on my cardiac consultants notes that he contributes it to likely rheumatoid associated lung disease, anyone else had this problem? Many Thanks.

Hi , I am on secukinumab and Methotrxate . I had a heart attack the beginning of June fitted with a stent. I was not considered high risk. The cardiac doc I saw on discharge said there is a link between psoriatic / rheumatoid arthritis and heart problems. I also suffer with some breathlessness and was informed by cardiac nurse this could be due to my medication which I now have loads to take. I am very confused with what causes what ! I have an appointment with my rheumatologist this week so I hope to get some answers ....if he has the time ! Still have flares but there are not so bad as they used to be. I wonder if anyone else has heart problems ?

Hi. I had a heart attack three years ago and had two stents . The cardiologist said there is a strong link with ra and heart attacks due to anti inflammatory meds. Mine were promptly withdrawn.

Appointment has been cancelled for rheumy again ! Will contact the help line as I feel I need to get some answers. What meds are you on ?

Hi jan. I'm on steroids and leflunamide plus meds for heart and also tramadol and amitriptyline for nerve pain( huge problem with my spine). Take a look on the website drugs.com. all the interactions are on the site. I've come out in blood blisters on my arms and in my mouth,possibly the leflunamide and like you I'm waiting for grumpy nurse to ring me. Gp says carry on if it helps the RA. He hasn't seen the rash! He says I'm out of their league with these meds.

I’ve been experiencing breathlessness for a while and it seems to be getting worse. I was planning on asking rheumy next visit but have another problem going on and visiting another doctor on Thursday who may be suggesting surgery for another matter and will bring it up with her especially if she says surgery.
