Hi found out today that I have been referred to a company called healthshare. I have looked at reviews and I am concerned that this is like am msk triage. Has anyone heard of them. Everything I have read sounds like awful care.

Where is the Healthshare based? Looking at the various ones, some just provide physio, others, physio and podiatry, some the full range of musculoskeletal therapies for a health board? It seems to be a private provision for msk bought by the health board? It's difficult to tell what exactly you would be offered. Is there any way that you can ask what exactly is on offer?

My GP has requested rheumatology with healthshare. They are based in Oxford. It says they should contact me 48 hours after referral I know my GP referred me on Friday. I'm assuming they will do more blood tests and any scans to establish whats wrong before I'm referred for correct treatment. Will contact them Thursday to see what's happening.

Ah I saw them. Can't for the life of me think what happened. Possibly triage? I saw someone quickly, and was then referred on to rheumatology. Still a long blooming wait though. By the time I got to see rheumatology I was in absolute agony.

That's my concern Nettienet that it's just going to prolong things. Guess I'll have to go with it.

Take it all back. It was for urgent physio! It was useful because the physio straightaway contacted my rheumatologist to inform them I was in agony and needed to be seen ASAP. I saw head physio who wouldn't touch me as I was in a massive flare. Sorry. Still had to wait a bit but was seen at flare clinic

So healthshare were pretty good then. Hopefully things will move a bit quicker. Thanks.

Sorry added on to last post. Yes was useful. But I still had to wait a bit. Was seen at flare clinic and given steroids. Is your appointment Manzel Way or Witney?

It's at manzil way oxford. I'm guessing they will do blood tests and possible ultrasound. I know I have rheumatoid factor of 380.1 and my plain hand X ray was normal.

Yes I went there. Very efficient. Not sure about blood tests etc. Physio just looked at my joints.

To be fair I thought that the physio department under healthshare was a huge improvement to before. The appointment system is quick (no waiting for six months!) to be seen. The head physio was quickly see I was in too much pain to do physio.

They are qualified to give steroids into joints. However they wouldn't touch me as I'd had bilateral partial knee replacements.
