Can I go 3 days early for my bloods as I’ll be in holiday when they are due. Every 2 weeks still. I’m on methotrexate.

It probably won't be an issue but I would just check with whoever it is that takes your drug monitoring bloods because you obviously need to be sure it'll be ok & you will need to re-appoint your test & cancel the original one. If it's a Practice Nurse at your GP surgery that takes it just give her a call, if it's the hospital Haematology dept check with your Rheumy nurse as they probably won't know or commit. It is important you have it either way though Sheena as I'm sure you realise.

Thank you so much for getting back to me and so quickly. I don’t actually have an appointment. It’s at the haematology department . But as you say it is important I have them . So I think I will just go early. Thank you

When I was on Mtx as long as. I was within the month the lab didn't contact me, but if I went 7 days over I got the naughty letter, with dire explanations as to how important it was not to miss a test!

If your blood results are stable for a period the frequency of tests should soon reduce. I started on 2 weeks, moving on to 4 weeks and now 8 weeks. Hopefully you will move on to a regime that is more flexible. Enjoy your holiday.

I’m sure that would be fine, I’ve been on Methotrexate for quite a long time now and have often had to get my bloods done early or late. Have a word with your GP or Practice Nurse but I can’t imagine it would be a problem.

Have a lovely holiday xx

It is amazing how differently doctors around the world and even in the country set protocols for blood work and testing. I have been on methotrexate for 18 months to treat my psoriatic arthritis (PsA) and my doctor only orders blood work every 3 months. So far so good. My numbers have been within range. I am going to stay on the dosage for the time being and have had no flareups. I did have mild nausea and discomfort on the day that I take the pills, but that has subsided. I don't think a few days or weeks matters much with getting your blood work completed. Good luck to you. Stay safe.
