Hi Krista,
Sounds Very unpleasant. I have no experience of Enbrel. Just hopping in to offer some support and hope that it gets better for you. I’m sure someone more knowledgeable will turn up soon. Hang in there, cheers Deb
6 weeks is quite early, it can take 3 to 6 months to have an effect although some lucky people feel it working very quickly. Generally you should start to see benefits after 3 months, and then it carrys on improving after that. Fingers crossed you'll feel it soon. Perhaps keep a diary as the first changes might be quite subtle?
I'm on Enbrel and didn't really notice much difference until the third month. It gradually got better from then. I was told it would take longer for me as I was on half the usual dose. They were right. Since going on the full dose I have been in a lot less pain. Unfortunately I've recently had an upper respiratory infection so had to stop them for 4 weeks. It sent me back to the beginning and now I'm having to get used to them again. I'm sure once it's in your system properly you will notice the difference.
The normal adult dose is 50ml once or twice a week depending on the individual, but I'm on paediatric injections that I mix together myself as I'm allergic to preservatives in drugs. This one doesn't contain them. I have 25ml twice a week.
