Hi I’m constantly feeling sickly with headaches on abatacept anyone only else had these symptoms I’ve been on it for 5 weeks now, my stiffness as gone but I’m left with these symptoms it’s driving me nuts , never simple this disease, it does say it’s a side effect I was just wondering if anyone else or is it just me ?

Hi

I have my Abatacept by monthly infusion and I do get a headache the following day. However once that is over I am fine. If yours doesn’t settle it might be worth asking if an infusion would suit you.

Thanks I will mention it to the nurse on Wednesday it’s horrible sickly headache feeling won’t let up.

Hi Vonnie, my migraines returned with a vengeance after I had been on Abatacept for about 4 months. Otherwise the drug worked wonders with my RD within weeks. Following a consultation with my consultant I dropped to injecting once a fortnight as I felt the standard dose may have been too high on a weekly basis for a petite woman - I weigh 53kg. As my RD was under control he agreed and I have been fine since.

I think I’m going to ask for a ivi infusion there is no way I can tolerate the stuff I can’t eat properly or do much of anythink really. I’m happy it worked for you that’s brilliant. X
