Tinnitus advice please

Have had tinnitus for about 3 months but only in my left ear. Been looking on u tube for help with relieve and there are videos which suggest what might help including rubbing the ears with the palm of your hands plus pushing a finger onto the lobe ( definatley not into the ear drum ) and one or two other things so my question is if as in my case the annoying sound is only in one ear surely it would be best to only do these things on the offending rather than both as Ime worried if I mess around with both ears it might disturb the good ear and finish up with both ears ringing ?

I have had tinnitus in my left ear for 22yrs and i have a hearing aid in it to mask the noise. It does help.xxxx

Thanks Silvi I've bought a tinnitus sound machine and at first I was not impressed but now Ime finding it helps especially as I know seem to have it set at the right volume level. Maybe it would help you ?

How is your blood pressure? I get really bad tinnitus sometimes and for me it usually indicates my blood pressure is elevated and I take an extra half pill of my regular BP meds.
