I had an angiogram last week as I had suspected angina. I was greatly relieved to read my discharge status!
They now think the chest pain could be Bornholm's Disease which I had in my twenties and apparently never goes away completely. The nickname is Devil's Grip which gives you an idea of what it feels like.
Sounds really a really uncomfortable condition. I was glad to see your discharge status says you’re alive! 😂

What can I expect?
Nothing to worry about I had 2 last year and they was over and done with in 20 mins and I didn’t feel a thing. You can watch everything they are doing on the screen.
The consultantes reeled off a list of possible outcomes, including death, but they are all very low risk. It isn’t painful but uncomfortable. I didn’t need any sedation until towards the end when my arm became painful. So they gave me a drop of sedation. You get told the result immediately, which is good.
They had permission to put in a stent if that proved necessary. Thankfully, it didn’t.

I had an angiogram about 13 years ago following a mild heart attack. Being a big strong bloke I was absolutely terrified, so when offered pre-op sedation I jumped at it! Was pretty spaced out all afternoon waiting to go down to theatre when a doctor came and told me that things were running late and I wouldn't be having the angiogram 'til the next day..sob..sob. Hadn't been awake for long the next morning when I was given a quick wash by the nurses and whisked away to theatre with no time for sedation. Unlike Jora, I was given the angiogram in my groin. It was nowhere near as bad as I anticipated. Bit of a weird sensation on times as I recall but absolutely no need of a leather strap to bite on.
Thankfully there were no issues with my heart. 
Not me but my h has had angiograms plus pressure wire tests (this determines if it is found there's a narrowing in one of your heart arteries if it requires further treatment). I'm afraid to say it depends on who does the angiogram... having had 3 he would say don't allow anyone who's not done it for a while & out of practice to perform it. That said 2 were absolutely fine, a little uncomfortable but watching the screen occupies you. He had one through the arm the other 2 through the groin & opted for no sedation with any though he could have done with it for the the second!

That’s a brilliant discharge status! 😁 At least they’re getting to the bottom of what is the problem and good it’s not angina!
Phew, that's a relief Jo! The considered result is a mixed blessing though, I hope it's as long again before you have a recurrence. x
