GLORIA – the first and largest study investigating the safety and efficacy of low dose glucocorticoid in those with RA.

NRAS has been asked by one of our European colleagues in rheumatology if the UK could contribute to the sub-study of a major European trial (called GLORIA) on the use of steroids in people with RA. The full study is being run in 7 European countries.

The sub study which we are asking you to participate in, if you are eligible, explores the knowledge and experiences of people with RA of all ages with glucocorticoids. To this end the Portuguese GLORIA partner has developed an online questionnaire and we would be grateful if anyone who is currently taking or has ever taken steroids would be willing to take just a few minutes to fill in the questionnaire which can be accessed through the following SurveyMonkey link:

I would have done it but can only get date of birth to go back a month at a time and 54 years of that will kill my fingers. If anyone has been able to do it easier please post here and I will happily do survey.

I found a way to shortcut that, and just selected year, then month then day. But sorry I have no idea how I managed to do it!

I chose my day on the calendar, then typed the month and date in. It then found it on the calendar.

Hi Tracey, you should be able to just free type your date of birth in as long as it's in the format MM/DD/YYYY - hopefully that will save you skipping through the calendar.

Best wishes

Not very good as I couldn’t get the age in . I’m obviously too old 😞, but of course although RA isn’t an age related disease probably most sufferers are older.

If you hold down the date it will then show the years and you can go back a year at a time quickly. It threw me out for some reason on the next page and now says I have completed the survey lol oh well I tried.

Just punch in the numbers, you don't need to use the calendar. But make sure you use the US method of entering the date, ie month first then day then year.

Done, but some of my steroid treatment was/is for Vasculitis.

I think this for oral steroids. I've only had I'm depo medrone.

Have had oral but before RA diagnosis for nasal polyps

I think depo medrone is methylprednisone, so that's what I ticked.

I found the survey difficult to complete as I was often on steroids intermittently in my earlier treatment and have only been taking them regularly recently. And even for the last twelve months it has been a variable dose; again there is no opportunity to express this. There was no free text areas to express the difficulties of completing the survey accurately.
