I have a small mark on my arm similar to this. You see it a lot in older people. I showed mine to my colleagues both said it’s a mole. I thought not and then showed it to my brother in law who’s a doctor and he agreed with me and said a name but can’t remember.

Have you shown it to a doctor? As could be that you have rhupus - which is a mix of rheumatoid arthritis and lupus. Lupus can cause petechia or skin spots like that. As can drug reactions. I imagine that you are having regular blood tests if you've just started on MTX? So try not to worry that it's something sinister as that most likely have shown something abnormal in your blood tests.

Could it be as a consequence of a low platelet count in your blood? Certainly worth getting checked regardless, hope you find out soon.

please visit Doctors asap if you have not already done so. Warmest Craig

Visit to your GP is a must, sooner rather than later. Please let me know how it went 😊

Sorry about your skin. I have had similar problems with my skin. It occurred when I was taking high doses of asthma medication and again with warfarin. At the time my dog was just a puppy and if she jumped up it made marks like that. I was told it was a type of bruise - bleeding under the skin. I hope you find out what yours is soon. Kind regards. X

Thankyou for your reply . They just appeared I read up but there's so many different things . They don't seem to be alarmed at the hospital so don't think it's anything to worry about. Thankyou x

Thank you for your reply. If you are worried, you could try wearing full length sleeves and if you think you may have caused a problem, apply pressure for a few moments as if treating a noticeable bleed. I also had problems like this when filling the wash machine or dishwashers. Xx

i don't know how old your are nor whether you are on any type of medications however both would create your skin appearing as such. the cause i was told is a thinning of the skin tissue. nothing to be alarmed about advised but would show to your doctor during your visit.

I'm taking MTX 10mg, zapain , naproxen . I've had it looked at and my bloods are quite raised ATM but hopefully will sort itself out . Thankyou

Do your medications have identification markings?

I am on Leflunimide and the pharmacy has sourced a brand with no identification markings. None....
