Watchful waiting or do you have scheduled surgery? Commiserations either way!

I've yet to see gastro to see what they have planned. Just received a letter.

Oh poor you, I know they're meant to be incredibly painful. 😞 I hope they can do something to help now they know what's the problem.

I have the too but they haven't caused any problems - so far. Bad luck Nettac. I always think that having inflammatory arthritis in whatever form is more than enough for one lifetime thanks very much. Hope you get sorted soonest if inevitable.

I had gallstones too - more painful than child birth! Mine was caught early so I was able to have my gall bladder removed by keyhole surgery and only needed a week off work.

Hi Nettac

Utter sympathy coming your way!

Hideous having gallstones, only plus side is you will feel better if they operate.

I hope in your instance its gravel like and keyhole surgery is possible. Much less uncomfortabe and quicker recovery.

Im afraid I was unlucky enough to have a stone the size of a gulls egg! 😖

Bit like the RA had been having rotten symptoms for years but sheugged them off until I couldnt stand it any longer and got too poorly to ignore.

I was 29 when I had a full Cholysystectomy! I have a nice 10 inch scar across my tum.

Good luck and looking forward to hearing how you get on.

My gallstones ran in the family, my Dad, Auntie, Sister all had exactly the same. Its just horrendously painful.

My advice is stay off anything that triggers your attacks .

Cheese, fatty foods, alcohol (white wine is a nightmare)

In my case fruit on an empty stomach set me off, things like grapes.

Another huge bit of advice to give anyone with gallstones is stay of drugs containing Codeine

For some readon these can really bring on the awful colicky agonising pain that radiates into your back!

Best wishes Nettac
