Good morning everyone, I was just wondering if anyone else experiences night mares / terrors. I have been changed onto the methotrexate injection (15mg) for about 3months, after about 3years of tablet form. I have started waking in the middle of the night just screaming and last night i had a nightmare thinking someone was in the room resulting in me flailing in my sleep, my partner tried to wake me and I took it out on him a bit. Lol does anyone have any experiences of this and what helped you? I don't eat before bed or anything like that.
Thanks in advance ☺️

Sorry to read this, I changed from tablets to injections with no problems. Are you by any chance on amitriptyline? I took that once and it gave me nightmares, it's one of the side effects.
Like AC above, prednisalone turned me rather weird and all sorts of emotional problems day & night.
However, night terrors are to me something you should tell your GP about. It could be a delayed reaction to the drugs, or a symptom of something else brewing. I don't want to alarm you but the only time I've ever had full blown screaming out loud night terrors was when I had TB, so I think it is worth flagging up.
Thanks for the replies guys, nope not on any prednisolone just mtx folic acid anti inflammatories and cocodamol if needed. Will be contacting my nurse just wanted to see if anyone had experienced it before. Thanks again 😊
Could the cocodomol be causing the nightmares. Both of my parents had bad reactions when taking it and I refused to take it when it was offered to me after my surgery for that reason. Nightmares are listed as a rare side effect of cocodomol. livestrong.com/article/1985...
I quite often have nightmares. I know that I am prone to having vivid dreams and have been known to shout, sing and even walk about while asleep according to parents and partners. But if I'm having a bad time with my RD then I do tend to have more. I'm not sure that it is the codeine, the prednisolone or other medication - but I am sure that my mental state affects it.
It's not so surprising is it that our worries might surface when we are asleep.
Tramadol can result in dreams/hallucinations - it's an individual reaction to whatever drug. As Helixhelix says definitely worth flagging up to eliminate other possible causes. Hope you are soon having sweet dreams.
I had horrendous nightmare with sulphasalizine, every time I closed my eyes to sleep it was horrific, my Rhematoligst stopped the drug, I was put on benepali after failing on methotrexate and sulphasalizine, hope you get sorted soon.
