I have just discovered this site while looking for info on PIP assessments. I have scleroderma and Rheumatoid arthritis, and it is my first time claiming pip. I got a letter on Wed giving me an appointment for the 23rd. However, this clashed with a hospital appointment with my rheumatologist, so I rang to reschedule. I now have it this Saturday! Luckily it is very local to me and my husband can take me and stay with me. Not sure what to expect as I have read very different stories.

Good luck with your pip assessment. The best advice I can give is to be honest. This means opening up about the struggles you face on an everyday basis, even the ones that you try to hide from everybody else. It is hard because we are all so used to saying "I'm fine" when we're not but this is one occasion where it is okay to admit you're not fine.
Couldn't agree more, just be completely honest and don't play it down (as I think we're all guilty of doing!). Describe the help you need when you are having a really bad day/flare. Good luck!
Thanks for your kind replies, both Jewels94 and Mhairi54. I have been tapering down the steroids as they gave me very high blood pressure, so I am in quite a lot of genuine pain. I'll try to let it show for once! 😄
