I have just came of methotrexate after 18 years do I stop taking folic acid as well

You probably should not take the same amount. I also understand that mtx is still working in your body for up to 6m. You should probably ask your rheumy.

Best to check with your team but the folic acid is prescribed alongside to ease side effects of MTX so as you're no longer taking it would follow you'd stop the folic acid too, I did when I had a had a break from MTX for 3 months with no ill effects.

Make sure you take advice from your GP or rheumy team. I was on folic acid long before I went on mtx as my folate levels were low and I took it every day then, only reducing to 6 days when I went on mtx. X
