So . . . . . I am in agony with my left shoulder! On slow release morphine topping up with liquid morphine, luckily it doesn't make me drowsy so am managing to function. X-ray results came back showing wear and tear at the end of both right and left clavicles and in the ball/socket joint on left. This wasn't a surprise but doesn't explain the pain I'm suffering in what I feel is behind my scapula.
Over the past year or so I have had both shoulders injected and the pain responded well to the cortisone but this recent pain is different.
Anyone have a similar experience?

The pain wears you down doesn't it? I phoned my consultant's secretary to see if I could be seen early as I'm not due to see Rheumatologist till March. Clinics are choc-a-bloc so I'm down for a cancellation . I need an MRI to see what's going on there!!

I can relate to shoulder pain, at the age of 52 I've had both shoulders replaced - the second one in October last year so I'm still doing the physio. I can now raise both arms above my head but this time last year I had the first one in a sling and could barely lift a cup with the other. If you are offered a replacement I'd say go for it, I even wrote a blog about my experience.
Thanks for replying to my post, 52 seems very young to have both shoulders replaced I'm glad you're feeling the benefit. Did you have a lot of pain behind the scapula? I also have pain sort of at the lower tip of the shoulder blade, almost under my arm?

Hi yes I was in terrible pain, sometimes from the shoulder up into neck and sometimes down to my wrist. I felt pain right under my arm too although I think this may have been caused by muscle tension. I think I'm on the mend now though.
