Remicade : Hello...anyone taking this medication and if... - NRAS
Remicade
Hi, I've had Remicade - or Infliximab as it's known in the UK numerous times. It's been really effective at inducing remission when I've had severe flares. It's not without side effects but they've been worth it for me. What else would you like to know?
Thank u! The side effects experienced... I'm leaving Enbrel after two years and moving on to Remicade next week.
I'm afraid I'm not familiar with Enbril so can't offer a comparison. I've always had Infliximab over a period of several hours to reduce the chances of a reaction and to that same end I guess you know you're given a good dollop of antihistamine via IV beforehand? So you're pretty sleepy at the time. I've had small side effects like a rash on my hands or mild nausea but nothing much else at the time. I am however always pretty much wiped out for a few days afterwards - but then remember you usually have to be pretty unwell to have it so is its the drug in combination with the illness. I'm managing on Methotrexate at the moment and although like most of us I'd rather not take anything, Infliximab has worked wonders for me. Good luck 😊

Hello, did you end up taking Remicade? Could you share your experience?
Remicade was suggested for me but I don't have to choose this specific biologic, they said I could take any of the biologics that treat both RA and Crohns. I'm looking to make an informed decision.
