Hi was wondering if any of you could help me out saw my Rheumy Wednesday no swelling well yesterday I've had like a lump come up between my thumb and wrist it is only a bit painful when I touch it it's almost like a creaking feeling very strange anyone any ideas xx

Hi it looks like inflammation. Mine are the same.Both hands.I had surgery last year to take out bone there and to put metal in the thumb. Also sometimes sclerosis forms and causing pain and lumpd yout bodies way of trying to repair it's sekf.

Hi Jaadee. It may be a gangleon, I have had many over the years. I have one on the back of my left hand, it doesn't hurt, have had many that do. They do eventually go. I would still get it checked out though. Good luck

Is the swelling soft and does it itch? If so check in case you've been bitten by something, say a mosquito, a spider or something else, because I blow up like that when I get bitten. It does look like inflammation. You could try taking an anti histamine tablet and see if it helps, but I would see your doctor if it doesn't go down.

This could be a flare up...as flare ups can be anywhere on your body....when I get very painful fingers I will sometimes sit with my fingers or thumb..in a cup of hotish water...and wait till the pain eases a bit.....good luck....
