Palindromic rheumatism

I've been on sulsalfazine for 19 months now it's stopped working. Is this normal? Any thoughts guys?

Hi maybe your needing another dmard added or the dose upped I would give the Rheumy nurse a ring don't suffer in silence xxx

I would speak with Rheumy team. Mine did stop but they added another dmard which helped.

Maybe. I've got RD & hydroxychloroquine stopped working for me after just about a year so methotrexate was added. For some reason the 2 didn't work well so HCQ was stopped & I've been on MTX ever since. Sulfasalazine was added a couple of months ago but I'm on such a low dose it's not doing much. So it could be the SSZ or if you're getting more periods of activity it may be changing pattern (not sure how it goes with palindromic) & the SSZ isn't up to the job, your Rheumy or nurse are the ones to ask I think really.
