The caring NHS ..can't get a doctor's appointment or callback ..did get a call back from Fosse Family Practice (call back service for when your own GP can't call) ..spoke to a lovely doctor who explained due to my complex medical needs and the medication I'm on he can't help me ...the only person that can is my Consultant ..that's ok except my appointment with my Consultant in April has been cancelled by the hospital and they don't have another to give me because all the clinics are full ...what do I do in the meantime? - basically suffer ..

I would put a call into the consultants secretary and explain your situation and what the doctor said. Hopefully she will be able to help. x

Do you not have a Rheumy nurse helpline number? If not try your Rheumy's Secretary's number, you should find it on correspondence from him/her. Maybe you can broach the subject of a replace appointment for the cancelled April one at the same time?

I've finally managed to speak to my rheumy nurse!! ..she's going to push my Rituximab to be done as urgent - this has been delayed from January to lack of beds and she's going to get me an appointment next week in the nurse led clinic but on one of the days my Consultant is there ...finally light at the end of a dark and painful tunnel... I do have complex needs due to RA.. fibromyalgia ..hypothyroidism.. circadian rhythm sleep disorder and sleep apnea and excessive pain just aggravates these conditions.

SAME HAPPENED TO ME I WENT TO DOCTOR'S SURGERY AND EXPLAINED HOW MUCH PAIN I WAS IN AND BEGGED FOR HELP, I WAS SEEN THE SAME DAY BY THE WONDERFUL DUTY DOCTOR WHO CONTACTED THE RHUMATICS HOSPITAL AND GOT ME AN APPOINTMENT AND AN XRAY. I AM NOW WAITING FOR A HIP REPLACEMENT OPERATION. GO TO YOUR SURGERY AND BEG FOR HELP!
